Aylesbury Vale Volleyball Club

Aylesbury Vale Volleyball Club is an adult club with currently two teams playing in the Hertfordshire league: our mens' Division 2 team “Pirates” and our Ladies' team “Vixens”.

AVVC goes back to the 1980's, when a group of enthusiastic players decided to take on this amazing sport and put together a mixed team. Initially, this group of friends was merely enjoying playing some volleyball and having fun playing in a hall at RAF Halton. But soon they went from being just a recreational group, to a more competitive level, starting to play in the RAF league, competing with teams in the RAF and in the prisons' environment. Game after game, the team attracted the interest of more and more players willing to join the club.

In the 90`s, with an ever expanding team, came the need to find a more permanent place where to train and play home matches, so with the support of Stoke Mandeville stadium which became our venue, the club was officially formed as Aylesbury Vale Volleyball Club.

Over the years, Vale VC saw a quick growth, with more people interested and wanting to play at a more competitive level, and it entered its first men's team in the Hertfordshire League, followed by a ladies` team in 2005.

Today

Today, after more than 30 years since the club was born, coming across many different players of all levels, we are happy to see that some of the initial enthusiastic players, are still with us, whether playing, coaching or just helping out with the club's organisation or joining our social events.

We are always on the lookout for new members with basic volleyball skills, so if you are interested in joining, or even just coming for a trial training session, please Click here.
